Belated Friday Fun Day: Affirmation Poem — Who I Do & Do Not Want to Be

I want to be with people

I want to know lots and lots and lots of people!

I see myself laughing and conversing easily with them.

I am confident.  Strong posture, open stance.  Powerful, in a comfortable, welcoming way.

I care about them and remember the things that are important to them and their lives.

I spend time with them.

I am fully present with them.

They are all that matters in those moments.

We connect.

I am a healing presence.

People feel safe with me.

People feel at home with me.

When people are with me, they remember that they are loved — They are washed in love!

They remember that the universe supports them.

All they have to do is be who they are.

I will no longer be afraid.

I will no longer be self-conscious or insecure.

I will no longer worry about what I’m wearing or how I sound

or what facial expression I’m making.

I will not be full of nervous energy!

I will get things done.

I will not revert to helplessness.

I will complete on my own, take initiative, even in asking for help.

I organize events.

I bring people together.

We do fun things.

We do new things!

I am full of love, excited energy, and peace . . .

I am organized

I am comfortable in my own skin.

I take risks!

I make “mistakes”!

And I laugh and learn.

I learn from EVERYTHING!

I will not avoid out of fear.

I will not procrastinate out of fear.

I will see the world as my laboratory,

as my playhouse,

as my stage,

as my mission,

as my life’s work.

I will leave the world better than when I left it.

I will do what I’ve come here to do.

Fun Friday: Sun Poem

This morning
I bowed my head
to the sun
in all its glory.

But it bid me rise,
for I, too,
am called to be a light
for the world.

It’s a Grand, Connected World

I love connecting with people in other parts of the world:  Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, India, New Zealand, Germany, Indonesia, Mexico, Malaysia, the Netherlands, the Philippines, Singapore, Armenia, South Africa, Ireland, the Republic of Korea, Switzerland, Brazil, Thailand, Hong Kong, Israel, Italy, the Bahamas, France, Moldova, Belgium, Sweden, Denmark, Austria, Taiwan, Zimbabwe, Croatia, Russia, Puerto Rico, Spain, Japan, Portugal, Venezuela, the United Arab Emirates, and other parts of the United States (according to my site stats).  And that’s not including people that I’ve visited!

On-line dating introduced me to a special guy I might never have met, and blogging has introduced me to friends and sympathizers who I never knew existed.  There are people struggling with what I’ve struggled with.  There are people who are at that point that I hope to reach.  And we’re all walking together along our journeys.  Not only do these people share in my journey; they’ve let me see a piece of their world.  This restless girl has found her means to travel the world in her own way.  The world is huge, but now it seems connected.

I know technology is pushing us farther apart from each other.  It’s allowing people like me who are shy and introverted to hide behind our computers probably more than we should.  But it’s also connecting us with people who are like us.  Who understand, who believe the same things.  Who laugh at the same things and break their hearts over the same things.   These are people who seek what we seek, who have similar goals, similar dreams.  I know I am unique, but now I feel a little less like an oddball.

This is the way.  Now that I’ve gotten a taste of it, I can’t imagine going back.

Something Tells Me I’m onto Something. . .

Yesterday. . .

“The World Will Soon Be Ready to Receive Your Talents”

I got this fortune from a fortune cookie during our “Fiesta” party. 😀  Ironic food, but cute and fun! (I left the food completely choices open except for foods with peanuts.)

Sometimes this is attributed to the Dalai Lama, but it actually comes from David Orr.

Facebook post. . .  And those are me!  What do you require of me, world?  I’m ready for you!

If I could spend whatever I wanted

I wouldn’t be so stingy when I go out.

I would pay for the free digital art.

I would share everything.

I would choose quality over affordability; “organic”, “environmentally friendly”, and “animal friendly” over “convenient” and “cheaper.”

If I could spend whatever I wanted;

If I had all the time that I wanted

I would take more classes, especially about spirituality, health, and happiness.

I would go visit a psychic, see a spiritual healer, spend the day at a spa. . .

I would be outside . . .  A LOT

I would read all the books I’ve wanted to read and watch all the movies I’ve wanted to see — documentaries, sappy romances, and blockbusters.

I would not use the phrases “appropriate use of time” and “wasting time.”

If I could spend whatever I wanted;

If I had all the time that I wanted;

If I could go anywhere I wanted

I would get an RV.  I would take my life and my work on the road.  I would pack everything up and give the rest away and visit everywhere I possibly could in the U.S.

And then I would backpack.  I would go see more of Mexico and then throw myself upon South America. (I’ll come back for you, Canada!)

I would fly across the ocean and see all of Africa, all of Europe, all of Asia, and Australia.  But not Antarctica.  (Sorry, Antarctica.  No appeal for me there.)

And then I would do it all over again! 🙂
