Start Fresh

Hello, everyone!  This is Teri Karl, Life Mastery Consultant, and today I’d like to talk about “starting fresh.”  This is a great time of year for starting fresh.  We just had the Spring Equinox, we just had Easter, and it is spring.  So, it’s a time of new beginnings.  And you know the term “spring cleaning.”  So, that’s what I would like to focus on today — is spring cleaning — in all terms of the word.

So, for example, this is a good time to detox your body.  Clean out your body.  Eat lots of good food, lots of good fluids, clean out what’s not needed.  Make some room for the good stuff, the good nutrients to come into your body.  This is a good time to clean out your house — again, spring cleaning, going through your things, deciding what you’d love to keep, what can go.  Cleaning out your garage, when it’s warm enough, depending on where you live.  This is a good time to clear out old finances.  In the U.S. it’s tax season, taxes are due, so get those in, if you haven’t already.  It’s a good time to clear out 2015.  I’m going to be finishing that tonight and getting 2016 welcomed in.  It’s also a good time to clear out your schedule.  Reevaluate.  We talked a little bit about this recently.  Look at the events that are in your calendar and decide what’s adding to you and what needs to go.  Pinpoint. Focus.  That applies to activities.  What are the activities in your life that are adding to you and giving you joy?  And what are the activities that maybe can go?  And finally — and possibly most importantly — is cleaning out your mind, taking a look at what thoughts you’ve been hanging onto this past year, and which ones, again, are giving something to you and helping you grow, and which need to go out the window, out with all the stale air . . . to let in . . . because that’s what you’re doing for yourself when you’re clearing out your body, you’re clearing out your house, you’re clearing out your finances, you’re clearing out your calendar and your mind — you’re making space to receive something better.  And this is a good time.  This is going to be a great year this year.  Big things are coming, and I welcome you to open up that space for yourself.

Have a wonderful rest of your day.  Much love. Many blessings.  See you soon. ❤

Hello, everyone!  This is Teri Karl, Life Mastery Consultant.  I hope you’ve had a wonderful holiday weekend, and today I would like to talk about value.

So, when you think about value, what first comes into your mind?  What image?  For me the first one is money, which I believe most people would think of — money and things that cost money.  And the other one that’s pretty big is time.  And something that we discuss in our Vision Workshop and our coaching is 4 quadrants, and the big value one I would say is “time and money freedom.”  That’s a bugaboo for a lot of people.

So, what I’d like you to think about today — and I’m going talk a little bit myself about it — is how is the inflow for you in time and money?  And how is the outflow for you in time and money? What does that look like in your life?  What do you place value on and what kind of value are you willing to receive?  So, for example, take a look at your income.  Income is a reflection of the value that you are receiving and what you are willing to receive.  For me, personally, my first job as a teacher — I realized as I was getting ready to leave that I didn’t think I was worth what I was receiving in money.  And I know it’s sad, but it was a good realization for me.  I started recognizing the thoughts behind how I felt about teaching.  I realized that I had thought that I’d gotten the job because of the connection I had and that maybe I didn’t even deserve it, and I think that was a big reason why I ended up pushing myself out and leaving.  And soon after that I took on tutoring and I took on some part-time jobs, and my amount of income started to match more of how I saw myself and how much value I thought I had, to the point where I actually worked in a warehouse for a year.  And part of the reason I worked in the warehouse was because I just wanted to clear things out and just have a very physical job, but I realized that another part of the reason that I was there is because that’s how much value I had for myself, that’s how much I felt I was worth.  And when I first started in the warehouse, I was making just over minimum wage.  So, that’s how low my self-value was.

And soon after that, when I left, I realized I have a little more value than this!  I took on some entrepreneurial jobs as well as continuing with tutoring. I still was not as successful as I wanted to be.  And I saw that it was still related to value.  I was not allowing myself the value.  And over time I’ve come to see a shift.  In tutoring it’s been very clear for me as I’ve slowly raised my rate.  And I have had people attempt to haggle with me on my rate, and I won’t do it.  Because I’ve seen that there are people who really do value me, and I’ve felt the resentment at imagining taking on that lower rate. I’ve realized it’s just not acceptable to me.  I value my time more than that.  And that’s still something I’m working on.

So, I encourage you to take a look at that and also take a look at your time. What is your time worth to you?  And what are you putting in your calendar?  Because that is a good indication of where your attention is related to your time and what you value.  And if you need to switch things around in your calendar — what’s the first thing to go?  So, for example, for me, a lot of times with my tutoring appointments, that sticks, I don’t move that around.  But if I have something that’s maybe something enjoyable for me, I’m willing to push that out for work or for whatever may come up with my charity organizations or whatever.  So, that’s another indication of how much you value yourself because that’s your time.  That time for yourself you’re moving around.

So, what is really important to you?  And how much are you valuing all those parts of yourself that need the play time and that need the exercise time for your health.  Do you value your health?  Do you value that inner spirit that needs to play?  So, I encourage you to take a look at that as well.  And also take a look at do you even have it on your calendar?  Because I don’t!  I realized I don’t have meditation on my calendar.  I don’t have play time on my calendar.  And when I went to a training just recently for this coaching, for consulting, I remember Mary Morrissey saying it’s important to give yourself one day — a whole day out of the week — just to do whatever you like to do that day.  And that — I couldn’t even conceive of that!  I thought I can’t even imagine giving myself one hour where I allow myself to think and do whatever I want without feeling guilty or thinking I should be working.  And that’s really sad. So, that’s something that I’m working on. Up until now that’s been an issue, and that’s something I’m changing.

So, again, I’d like you to take a look at that.  Take a look at: What do you have on your calendar?  Are you giving to all the parts of yourself, your health, and your play time?  Are you giving yourself the time that you need?  What are you moving around in your calendar?  And what are your boundaries?  What are you not willing to move and what are you willing to accept value-wise as far as your time and your money?  And I encourage you to set up what you would love so that you have the life that you love living.

Again, I hope that you’ve had a wonderful holiday weekend and have a beautiful rest of the week.

Much love.  Many blessings. ❤

Hello, everyone!  This is Teri Karl, Life Mastery Consultant, and today’s topic is “Celebration!”  and what I’d like you to do today is take a moment to give yourself credit for what you’ve accomplished. No matter how big or small you think it is, it’s meaningful for you, and every time you take a look at those accomplishments, you will add to your success consciousness, which is really important to creating the life you love, to building upon that positivity and attracting more of success into your life.

We talked just last time about the importance of giving your subconscious mind positive images.  The more you can put your attention on what you’ve seen as successful in your life and celebrate every action you’ve taken, the more you will be motivated and be attracting those same circumstance for yourself later today, and tomorrow, and so on.

This all really ties into gratitude.  Be grateful for yourself, and be grateful for what you have.  The more positive you see your circumstance, the more positivity you will bring to yourself.

So, I’m just going to take a moment to celebrate my actions today. I finally went to Hip Hop Fit class, and I enjoyed it.  I already put it into my schedule for next week.  I’ve had it on my 10 Most Wanted (or Desired) list for a long time, so that’s huge.  I’ve made some important phone calls in my business and set up some coaching in my business.  And I’m really excited about it.  I’ve had a really good experience, and I can see the ball rolling and things happening from there.  So, I encourage you to — if you’d like — share in the comments below your successes for today or maybe this week, and really give yourself credit for what you’ve done.  Love yourself, give yourself a little attention, a little pat on the back.

I hope you have a wonderful day.  Many blessings.  Much love.

Where Is Your Attention?

UPDATE: Transcript: (Back by popular demand!) ❤

Hello!  I hope you’re having a wonderful day today.  Today my question for you is: “Where is your attention?”  In the School of Metaphysics we like to say: “Your attention is your most precious commodity.”  Because it really IS how you create your life, where you put your attention.

So, I’d like you to think today about the words that you use, particularly when it’s relating to your longings and discontent.  Something that we talk about in the Vision Workshop that I present is: How are you framing your desires?  How are you framing your dreams?  You want to make sure that you choose your words carefully, that you present images to your inner mind that your inner mind will be creating for you, not against you.  So, to illustrate an example of how you have to be careful with your words, I’d like you to right now NOT think about purple elephants.  Ok.  I don’t know if you can imagine purple elephants, but I just love those.  Ok.  The example we use is: “Don’t think about the Statue of Liberty.  Don’t think about her hand raised, don’t think about the harbor, don’t think about the crown, don’t think about the torch in her hand. . . . ” What are you picturing right now?  Exactly what I told you NOT to, right?  Because your inner mind, your subconscious mind — as it is called — does not understand the word “don’t.”  It thinks in pictures, so all of the nouns — all of the things, all of the people, whatever images you’re using — doesn’t matter if you’re using “don’t” — your subconscious mind is receiving those, so you really need to be careful.

So, think about how you’re wording what you want.  You want to create as clear a picture as possible of what you DO want in your life.  Some examples we give in the workshop are: Do you want to “live in financial abundance“? vs. “Getting out of debt.”  Do you want to “move with comfort and ease“?  vs. “wanting no more back pain.”  So, look at the difference there.  You have the focus on abundance, and you have the focus on debt.  Just feel the difference.  You have the focus on comfort, ease, health — and the focus on back pain.  Even though you’re saying “No more back pain.”  Your inner mind is hearing: Oh!  Back pain!  MORE of that!  Do you want to enjoy living life at your ideal weight?  Or lose weight?  A lot of us are talking about losing weight, losing weight, losing weight!  You really want to focus on being healthy, vibrant, strong, ideal weight.  Focus on the positive because that is what you want to feed your mind.  That is what you want to attract and create more of.  And maybe for one of my future videos I’ll go into how I am extremely — up until now I’ve been extremely good at attracting  exactly what I don’t want because I’ve been very good at identifying my discontent.  It’s even more important to identify what you would really love, what you truly desire.  So, think about your desires today.  Choose your words carefully, and create the life you would truly love living.

Much love and blessings to you all.  Have a wonderful day. ❤
