7 Ways I’m Improving My “Inner Ear”

I heard the most beautiful message from Cindy Sommer today.  She talked about how we are always connected, that our divine switch is always on; it is distractions that keep us from “hearing” what we need to know.

I strongly desire to be aligned with my true Self and with higher guidance.  Since I do not always feel as connected with my inner self as I would like to be, I am making some changes to improve my experience

1. I am developing the elements of my morning routine.

I have been exercising nearly daily, putting on my “Work Out” Playlist and getting my groove on for the days when I do not dance Zumba or swim.  I’ve been meditating almost daily, and I have finally added the candle concentration exercise back into my day.  Journaling and blogging — though sporadic — are getting closer to a daily practice.

2. I am reclaiming my will power.

Twice this past week I woke up with the alarm — no snooze!  I discovered that one snooze opens the floodgates.  I made the decision today that I can get up any time before the alarm goes off, but the alarm is my final buzzer.  Building this trust in my self helps me develop trust in my ability to connect with my inner self. I am also slowly cutting back on unhealthy foods.  A cluttered body means a cluttered connection! I binge ate a ton of Christmas cookies, chocolates, and flavored popcorn this past week (all Christmas gifts!), and it is all finally gone.  If anything else comes in, I will bring it in to work!

3. I’m seeking guidance.

I have a life coach who is very intuitive and spiritually connected.  I am also going through my third read-through of Creating a Bug Free Mind by Andy Shaw. (I plan to listen to it a total of 5 times, as suggested.)  Besides working with my mind, I am taking physical action steps through working with local business owners to build my coaching business.  I’m also still receiving training from the Life Mastery Institute and plan to get caught up on the trainings from Brendon Burchard.

4. I’m seeking “higher” guidance.

I continue to pay attention to my dreams.  They are a wonderful indicator of where my attention has been the past week.  I’m using angel cards and looking for angel numbers.  I pay attention to synchronicities, “hunches,” and messages.  And I love when these different modalities/areas match up with each other!  Just a few days ago I had a very persistent fly in my home office.  Besides being an oddity in 6 degree winter weather, the fly was very noisy and obnoxious, flying right across my face and later landing on my head during one of my coaching sessions.  At the end of the night, as I was walking out of the room with my laptop in my hands, I looked down and was surprised to find the fly planted on the corner of my computer with no intention of moving.  I blew at it multiple times in the face, and . . . nothing.  After I posted about it on Facebook, a random comment inspired me to Google “fly symbolism”, and I found the message I knew was for me (matching 2 different cards I’d picked that week with identical messages!):

“Let go of old self doubts and self defeating habits. Know that your dreams are within your reach – you deserve it!” — Fly

(Thank you, Fly!)

5. I’m learning to surrender.

This has been the least fun of my steps, but I believe it is the most important.  I know that it is the only way to internal happiness.  I must “die daily,” surrendering my ego to my higher Self.  This means humility.  This means faith.  This means trust.  This means setting intentions and goals but being willing to scrap it all at a moment’s notice for the highest good.

“Man plans, God laughs.” — Yiddish proverb.

At a recent vendor fair I sat down with numerologist, Philip Clark, and it was a wonderful experience. However, I was stunned when he told me one of my birth angels was the Angel of Obedience!  I wish I could’ve gotten a photo of my facial reaction!  Besides feeling repulsed at the idea,  I was puzzled — I have been a fairly obedient individual most of my life — sometimes even too obedient!  However, recently this came back to my attention, and I realized that it refers to the obedience to my inner Self and to Source.  I have a big mission this lifetime.  Only pieces of it are clear, but I know that to fulfill it I will need patience and to trust in divine guidance.

6. I’m learning gratitude.

You attract what you are, what you think, and where your attention lies.  Up until now, I struggle with a “lack” mentality, and I recognize that the cure is gratitude.  If I am grateful for plentitude, thinking about blessings, putting my attention on all the gifts I have received, I attract more of the same.  If I desire a deeper connection, I can be grateful for all of the times I have been aware of that connection.

7. I’m teaching.

Choosing coaching as speaking as my life path, I will forever be a teacher.  Being still and allowing the lessons to come through me allows me to help others connect to Source and to their own inner wisdom.  Often I reflect on what I’ve just shared and think — Wow!  I could use that advice, too!

Are you practicing any of these?  I would love your feedback!  Have a wonderful weekend.  Much love, many blessings.  ❤

Truth Tuesday: One Way or Another

The messages from the inner self, God, angels, and other beings of light are all of a positive nature.  We know it is from them when the messages are supportive and loving.  Sometimes it’s still hard to receive the answers we are seeking.  Sometimes it’s hard for us to be still.  When we are stubborn or not listening, our messengers find another way!   They want us to know that they are always with us.

Today was one of my darker days.  I had a very pleasant outer day, but my insides were churning with thoughts that did not align with my vision for myself.  Those destructive thoughts began to take over.  I cried out for help, but I barely listened for a response.  I tried scrambling for what I knew best — reflecting back on my past, thinking about action steps, looking at my environment. (This didn’t help.)

Thankfully, I had FIVE very important calls today.  The first was my Rockstar phonecall with my accountability partner.  She reminded me to keep my attention on my vision and live as that future self.  Later in the day I had my Accelerator call for coaching training, where one of the discussions was about the importance of belief in what is the true reality.  Then I had a brief conversation with a friend, which reminded me of why I do what I do.  THEN, I had the Quantum Leap class call with Mary which again talked about the importance of vision and about the steps to visualization.  Finally, I had my regular Partners in Believing phonecall, where I actually shared my vision aloud with the others, so I could affirm the life that I love.

And I did get some messages when I actually did some spiritual writing today.  What is my conscious mind, what is my inner self, and what is God or angels I’m still not sure.  But really, we are all made of energy, right?  And that energy is born of love.  I hope any part of this has been helpful for you today.

7/12 Spiritual Writing

“You are love.

I’ll be with you.  I am with you.

Don’t doubt this.  You are never alone.  I am with you.  Don’t cry.   Be with me.  Stay with me.  I am here.  With you.  Always.  I am at your feet.  I sleep with you.  I stand by you.  I am by you, holding you, arms on your shoulder, hugging you.  Listen for me.  Hear me. “

I asked: “What would you like the world to know, beautiful beings?”

“You are loved.  Always this.  You are loved, beyond anything you can imagine.  It makes us weep when you do not realize this.  We are with you always, always, and we know how beautiful you are.  We see it always.  We wish you would see.  The fears, the anxiety — you have created them.

It is ok to be happy.  It is ok to have “free time” and fun.  You do not have to work yourself so hard.

You do have a mission, but it involves taking care of yourself first.  Self-care.  Ride the ups and downs.  You will balance out.  But be gentle with yourself always.  Care for yourself.  Love yourself.

How can you love and care for others if you do not love and care for yourself?”

Much love to you all and many blessings! ❤

Truth Tuesday: How Do You Receive Truth?

There are a lot of truth tellers out there.  I am one of them!  The question is, how do you receive truth — and how do you know it to be true for you?  There are many sources of truth.  It may come from people, from angels, from God (or “source”, the Infinite, etc).  It may come from your inner knowing, from your soul or spirit.  How do you know where it’s coming from and that it’s really true for you?

Observation, experience, and practice.  Everyone is different.  Maybe you’ve noticed your body reacting in a certain way, as I do.  You may get certain feelings in your “gut” or in your “chest.”  I’ve sometimes noticed a tingle in my left hand, in my left hand, or in my 3rd eye when I hear something that rings true for me.  Sometimes I also cry or feel a wave of emotion well up within me when I hear something that I know I’ve needed to hear.

Notice the voices that talk to you throughout the day.  Who are they?  Some are voices from your past.  Some are voices from your conscious mind or ego.  Some may be messages from your inner self.  If you’re particularly still and receptive, you may notice thoughts that don’t seem like you at all!  They could be thoughts or images from other people, or maybe God, angels, or other inner dimensional beings.

Have you received messages from speaking with others?  Very synchronistic ones?  Sometimes the universe brings the right people at the right time, and sometimes it could even be angels!  When I was out walking in the mall a few months ago with my classmates from the School of Metaphysics, a businessman struck up a conversation with us.  At one point in our conversation I was struck by his words and the power I could feel coming from them.  He was looking right at me, too and I could feel his gaze! Not only that, but his words seemed to be exactly what I needed to hear at the time.  I thought the event was strange, but then last night I was reading Signs from Above by Doreen Virtue.  A singer tells a story of being approached by a small group of people with a very specific message for her.  At another event a few weeks later she received the exact same message from a different person.  She felt the power the first time and couldn’t deny it the second time!  I think the angels spoke to me through this stranger as well.

How do you receive truth?  What do you notice this week?  Throughout the day, keep your intention on receiving the highest truth for the good of all concerned.  If you put your attention on it, you may open up a whole new, beautiful world for yourself!

Much love and many blessings to you all. ❤

Thankful Thursday: On the Flip Side

I particularly need this today.  I’m feeling a bit low.  For the things that I am struggling with, I am turning them into something to appreciate.

I am thankful for my cats, for sticking to me like glue to show me they love me.

I am thankful for forgetting things, so that I may remember to be present and grounded.

I am thankful for beginnings, so that I can  measure my growth.

I am thankful for phonecalls, to practice connecting with people.

I am thankful for large projects, to practice breaking things into steps.

I am thankful for low emotions — they trigger me to take a look at myself and my situation, step outside myself, and see the bigger picture.  They remind me that all of the drama is inside my head — my conscious mind — and thus to be aware of what is in front of me and what is deep inside me.

I am thankful that I AM.
